No cloud of smoke in bars with the new banNow that smoking is becoming socially unacceptable more and more states are installing a smoking ban. Enjoying a drink in a bar or cafe and in a restaurant after a meal will become a thing of the past. Many smokers feel deprived and alienated in public places and bars are reporting lower visitor figures. A loss of business income is one of the results of the smoking ban installed in Ohio. Many people, smokers and non-smokers, have expressed mixed feelings about these smoking bans. Most people tend to feel that being a smoker or a non-smoker should be a personal choice. Choosing to smoke is a right of every human being and most people prefer to have smoking and non-smoking areas in public places. Smokers pay a lot of tax for their cigarettes and would like to see something positive being done with their tax money (i.e. smoking areas). Smokers rights groups are wondering if the state will be able to pay for treatment for people wanting to end their smoking addiction because of the smoking ban. Visiting public places and smoking will be difficult in the near future and smokers think it's only fair for them to be able to end their addiction because of these new regulations. There are many ways and courses to help people to quit smoking. From self-help books to hypnosis, there is a lot that can be done but in the end it all comes down to one thing; not buying cigarettes anymore. |
