A woman living with a smoker husband, a child or an adult in whose family one or more person happens to be a smoker, and even smoking in public and work places are all classic examples of passive smoking. Passive smoking is becoming a significant issue and many nations are enacting laws to see to that at least the evil effects of smoking do not affect a non-smoker.Passive smoking referred as second hand smoking or environmental tobacco smoking, which is achieved by the mixture of mainstream smoke and side stream smoke. Therefore they can inhale lots of poisonous substances than adults. Children affected by passive smoking suffer from diseases like asthma, neurological impairment. By and large it affects their immunity system. In case of infants they are likely to die if they are affected badly. In general it increases the rate of sudden infant death syndrome. Passive Smoking and the WorkplacePassive smoking in workplace affects the colleague, employer and even the customer. When a smoker’s colleague spends lot of time with the smoker during the course of his work his health will b drastically affected. Since a group of people in an organization don’t inhale or exhale fresh air and already pollute the atmosphere this can only add to the misery.The employer will have to incur lot of medical costs when his employees fall ill. He may have to face decline in productivity as and when the sick employees take leave. This could even affect his profits or lose prospective customers. The employees (both smokers and non smokers) will not be able to achieve the targets. This may affect their promotion and incentives. If the employer happens to spend a lot of time with them he is also going to be equally affected health wise. Similarly a customer who visits a shop will be affected due to the smoke in the environment. It also deserves to be mentioned that passive smoking disturbs the concentration of the colleague’s employer and customer. As a result the employees may not deliver the best while the employer may not be able to pay attention to the actual problems and core issues and the customer may be unsatisfied.
