How to Dip Tobacco

To dip tobacco, you must first purchase a tin. The dip comes in a variety of flavors and textures. Once you have purchased a tin, pinch of a small wad of the stuff, and place a bit between your gums and lips on both your upper and lower lip.
Then, as it dissolves and is absorbed into the blood stream, spit your excess saliva, which can be irritating to your throat. But before you jump up and buy a tin of dip, you might want to read about the negative effects of dip tobacco.

Health Issues of Dip Tobacco

Dip tobacco does not cause lung cancer, the way that smoking tobacco does, but this does not mean that it is a safe way to enjoy tobacco. No matter how it is taken in, tobacco contains carcinogens, which are the materials that cause cancer. Also, tobacco, and the nicotine it contains, causes addiction.

One of the most common types of cancer caused by dipping tobacco is mouth cancer. Mouth cancer usually starts as a small growth in the mouth or a lesion of the tissue in the mouth. As it grows, a doctor will diagnose it as cancer. This type of cancer spread quickly, and if not treated, can lead to disfigurement of the face, and the inability to swallow, which can lead to other health problems. Also, as cancer spreads into vital organs, it can cause premature death.

Beyond the dangerous risk of mouth cancer, this type of tobacco consumption also leads to gum disease in the users. Untreated gum disease can cause the teeth to fall out, a condition which is permanent and requires expensive dental work to correct.

Tips For Quitting Dipping Tobacco

If you are addicted to dipping tobacco, then the best thing you can do, for your personal health, is quit the habit. This is easier said than done, however. In order to get rid of an addiction, you need to replace it with something. Many people find that nicotine patches, gum, or lozenges are a good way to reduce the addiction to nicotine. Avoid replacing dip tobacco with some other type of tobacco that is just as addictive.

Ridding yourself of your addiction to dip tobacco is one of the most helpful things you can do for your health. Make your health your number one priority, and come clean. Quit dipping tobacco and start a healthier life.
