Passive SmokingPassive smoking is a condition where a person inhales the air that has been polluted by other person's smoke. The chemicals in the smoke and the smoke can remain in a poorly ventilated room for many hours. They can also spread to other rooms. So as it is evident from its name, a person who gets exposed to that smoke and chemicals tend to inhale them without knowingly and so called a passive smoker. The most appalling fact is the passive smoker is at high risk sometimes than the smoker himself. This is because the concentration of cancer producing nitrosamines is more in the side stream smoke which is from the burning end of the cigarette. Only the mainstream smoke is inhaled directly by the smoker. Passive smoking has become an unavoidable phenomenon. Even non -smokers will have measurable quantities of smoke products mixed in their body fluids. Some non- smokers will get head aches, cough etc due to passive smoking. More Terms Explained Here... |
